Fall prevention course - for qualification to use PPE Cat. III for work at height

COURSE CONTENTS

Theoretical module 

• Course presentation
• Legal Basis and Regulatory Framework in Work at Height (OPI, OLCostr), personal fall protection systems (EN 363), risk analysis, the air draught and emergency management
• PPE: obligations, categories and requirements
• PPE: marking, use, maintenance, inspections before use, and hints on periodic inspection

Practical training 

From the scenarios listed below, we will choose the one that best suits your company's procedures for performing Work at Height:

• Installation of temporary anchor points
• Use of the restraint system
• Vertical and horizontal progression using fall arrest lanyard
• Vertical progression using flexible and/or rigid guided fall arrest system
• Progression on fixed vertical ladder using flexible and/or rigid guided fall arrest system
• Use of the retractable fall arrest system
• Use of horizontal lifeline
• Installation of temporary lifeline
• Using the positioning system
• Demonstration of the use of rescue systems

CERTIFICATE

At the end of the course, following a test on the theoretical part, the certificate of qualification for the use of PPE cat. III for work at height is sent (OPI, art. 3.1, 8.1 - OLCostr art. 3.1)

COST

CHF 390/participant
The price includes the use of PPE, training materials and lunch.

PRACTICAL INFO VALID FOR ALL DATES

• Course venue: Safety Training Center, Via Pian Scairolo 28, Lugano-Noranco
• Time: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (meet at 7:50 a.m. for participant registration)
• Cat III PPE: are made available and are sanitized after each use
• Health: course participants are asked to be in good physical and mental health to cope with the practical part of the course
• Lunch: is offered
• Clothing: appropriate work attire and work shoes are requested
